If Jack Black's character from School of Rock had written a textbook on musical genius, it might look like Shadows Taller Than Our Souls, the new publication from Charles R. Cross.
Ostensibly a history book about Led Zeppelin, the giant file of stories, photos, and CDs is actually more like a pop-up book, with every other page turning into a giant poster, an envelope full of reproduced ticket stubs, or a giant sticker reading "Nurses Do It Better," (which die-hard fans might recognize as the text on Robert Plant's t-shirt in 1977 California).
There's also a CD, lyric sheets, set lists, and even a tiny fake record jammed into the pages, some of which actually do pop up (classic example: you can "open the door" on a non-lead zeppelin to see the boys' album covers from the early '70s).
Wanna see the whole thing? It's about $30, knocked down from $50, on Amazon.
